gotmudyyc.com is a campaign to promote the benefits (and fun!) that comes from playing in good old-fashioned mud in celebration of the World Forum’s International Mud Day, designed to connect children with nature. International Mud Day is a story of connection. A connection of continents and cultures. A connection of children to the Earth. We are becoming more and more aware of how important our planet is, that we need to preserve, respect, protect. Research shows children who have the opportunity to play in nature, learn to love it and will grow into adults that take on this responsibility.
However, today, so many children spend less time bathing in the warm sunlight as it filters through branches, listening to the sing songs of birds and insects, finding pictures in the loudest, feeling their bare feet against the cool grass and squishy mud. So many of our experiences are happening virtually that we miss enticing our senses and lighting up our creativity naturally.
It can be hard to find room with the business of life but we invite you, if no other day, to begin with this one day at Mud Fair to unplug. tune in. enhance the function of your prefrontal cortex and experience the joy a family can have playing together in the mud. Learn more about it here.
